How to Shuck Oysters using a Dexter Oyster Knife

If you're like me and love raw oysters, get yourself a Dexter oyster knife. Shucking oysters at home is very easy and our video will show you just how simple it is. Oyster knives come in many sizes and shapes and we stock everyone that Dexter makes. Just a couple of things you need to know, first, never soak your oysters in fresh water. Soaking them in fresh water will kill the oyster. When storing them in your refrigerator, don't store them in a airtight container or plastic bag. Put them in a bowl with a damp cloth over them. They are best kept at 40 degrees or below. I like to put them on ice at least a 30 minutes before I plan to shuck them. It makes it easier to open them the colder they are and I like to eat them when their very cold. Shuck your own and enjoy.
